Job Description:

Reporting directly to the Maintenance & Engineering Manager, the Electrical & PLC Systems Supervisor’s responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:   

  • Applies electrical theory and related knowledge to test and modify developmental or operational electrical machinery, electrical control equipment and circuitry in industrial plant setting
  • Oversees assembly and testing of experimental motor control devices, switch panels, transformers, generator windings, and other electrical equipment and components according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles
  • Diagnoses cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performs preventative and corrective action
  • Develops diagrams, drawings and specifications for modifications or expansions and directs personnel performing routine installation and maintenance duties
  • Plans, directs and records periodic testing; recommends or initiates modification or replacement of equipment as needed
  • Directs, coordinates, develops, trains, coaches and assesses employees
  • Supports and encourage employees to work safely, efficiently and effectively
  • Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned

Skills Required

  • Hands-on experience with PLC systems and industrial electrical controls
  • Ability to diagnose electrical and mechanical malfunctions and perform corrective action
  • Experience overseeing assembly and testing of motor control devices, switch panels, transformers, and generators
  • Ability to develop electrical diagrams, drawings, and specifications for modifications
  • Plan and direct periodic testing and recommend equipment modification or replacement
  • Supervise, train, coach, and assess maintenance and engineering personnel
  • Commitment to workplace safety and enforcing safe work practices
