Position: Electrician Reports To: Electrical Manager
Location: 1005 Warner Avenue Lewiston, ID 83501
Essential Job Functions
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems.
- Reading technical diagrams and blueprints.
- Performing general electrical maintenance.
- Inspecting transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components.
- Troubleshooting electrical issues using appropriate testing devices.
- Repairing and replacing equipment, electrical wiring, and fixtures.
- Following National Electrical Code state and local building regulations.
- Performing circuit breaker corrective maintenance.
- Maintaining good knowledge of heating and air conditioning systems as well as various testing equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Hours
This is a non-exempt position. Work hours to be determined based on the needs of the business. Overtime may be required to meet business needs.
Competencies
This position requires strong time management skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service standards in stressful situations. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written. This position requires a self-starter with excellent problem-solving, analytical skills and mechanical aptitude.
Education and Experience
Previous experience or enrollment in appropriate schooling (determined by management). Must be able to pass a background and drug screening.
Work Environment
Frequently works in outside weather conditions. May be exposed to uncomfortable temperatures and/or conditions. Occasionally exposed to hot, wet and/humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. Moderately loud noise level while in the field. Occasionally exposed to dark, confined workspaces such as attics or crawl spaces. May be required to perform work from ladders and heights.
Physical Demands
Moderate to heavy working conditions. Frequently required to stand, talk and hear. Constantly required to use hand and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. Frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and walk. Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Periods of prolonged standing may be required.
Travel
Must have a valid driver license and clean driving history. Must have a valid driver’s license and remain insurable under our company insurance policy. Regular travel should be expected between Mike’s Mechanical Services and job sites. Travel to be expected primarily during normal business hours and during on-call shifts

Skills Required
- Previous electrical experience or enrollment in relevant schooling
- Ability to read technical diagrams and blueprints
- Knowledge of and ability to follow the National Electrical Code
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems using testing devices
- Ability to inspect and maintain transformers, circuit breakers, wiring, and fixtures
- Knowledge of heating and air conditioning systems
