Summary:
We are seeking skilled Journeyman to join our growing team. We specialize in new construction builds and the maintenance, repair and installation of electrical systems in accordance with current electrical codes and customer specifications. We promote working safely and efficiently, with a keen eye on keeping customer’s equipment running well.
Role:
- Cut, thread, bend, assemble, and install conduits and other types of electrical conductor enclosures and fittings
- Pull wire and cable through conduits, position, maintain and install distribution and control equipment such as switches, relays, circuit breaker panels, and fuse enclosures, install single and multi-wire cables above and underground, install data cabling, and install and maintain fiber optic and signaling systems
- Work in the full range of environmental conditions: including outside in all weather
- Install fixtures and devices for industrial applications and systems
- Perform well with mechanical ability and a thorough knowledge of the principles of electricity, circuitry, and power distribution systems, and familiarity with the materials and techniques of construction
- Safely troubleshoot repairs logically and efficiently
Who are you?
- Certificate of Qualification as a registered Electrical Apprentice in the NSAA, www.nsapprenticeship.ca is required
- Minimum of 2 years of trade experience (apprenticeship included)
- Knowledge of Nova Scotia Electrical Safety Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and all other applicable legislation required
- Building Automation Controls experience
- Fire Alarm experience
- Experience in Class 1 Division 1
- Self-motivated, and willing to learn
- Work well independently and be a team player
- Good writing and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
- Valid Driver’s License
This is a regular, full-time position with an hourly pay range of $34.82 - $43.52 per hour. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate’s competencies, including but not limited to experience, education, professional designations and performance related to this role.
