Moog is looking for an Electrical Engineering Manager to lead the Electrical Design team for Commercial Aircraft in East Aurora NY.  In this role, you will organize, allocate, direct and motivate the resources of this group to provide high quality engineering work.  You will also be responsible for resource management to EVMS schedules.

As an Electrical Engineering Manager, you will:

  • Lead and manage the technology development of a multi-disciplinary engineering staff matrixed across concurrent development programs.

  • Manage a collaborative innovation environment to challenging development objectives.

  • Perform a variety of direct employee management and supervisory functions including hiring, training, allocating resources, supervision, and growing highly skilled technical personnel through on-going performance and development reviews.

  • Analyze and communicate design process performance using EVMS methods.

  • Identify strategic and budgetary control opportunities relating to engineering estimates, development lifecycle performance, and outstanding development risk to schedule and cost performance.

  • Lead design engineering process development through maturation of process standards, templates, specifications, and automation to increase the design process consistency, replicability, and efficiency. 

  • Drive strategy for the commercial obsolescence refresh of all electronics. 

  • Travel 10-15% domestically and/or internationally.

To be considered for the Electrical Engineering Manager position, here’s what you’ll typically bring with you: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering

  • 7 or more years of professional Electrical Engineering work experience

  • Due to federal contract obligations, must be a US Citizen

  • Demonstrated competence and technical understanding of hardware design, development and testing applications

  • Managerial experience supervising a team of Engineers to minimum qualifications.  

It would be nice if you also had:

  • MBA or MS as preferred

  • Familiarity with the design life cycle including design, qualification, and certification of electronics for aircraft applications

  • 10+ years of Electrical Design Engineering experience

  • Experience in the aerospace industry

  • Self‑starter willing to make sound decisions and initiate action without prior counseling or direction.

  • Possess the technical knowledge and the personal integrity required to earn the respect of subordinates.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to communicate at all levels within Moog and at the customer/vendor level.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $145,000.00–$180,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
