Position Overview:
In this role, you will lead a control systems engineering team responsible for the development and integration of Display, Gauge, and Infotainment (IVI) systems within Polaris powersports vehicles. You will guide system definition, requirements development, and integration activities that shape the digital rider experience. Reporting to the Director of Control Systems Engineering, you will collaborate closely with architecture, software, hardware, validation, manufacturing, and vehicle teams to deliver reliable and intuitive user interfaces. You will balance people leadership with hands-on technical oversight to ensure programs meet quality, cost, and timing expectations. This role offers the opportunity to lead engineers, influence system-level outcomes, and contribute directly to next-generation vehicle platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of control systems engineers, fostering accountability, collaboration, and technical growth
• Support hiring, onboarding, goal setting, and performance management for direct reports
• Own system and subsystem engineering activities for display, gauge, and IVI systems, including requirements development and interface definition
• Guide system integration and execution from concept through production within Polaris development processes
• Collaborate with architecture, UX/HMI, software, hardware, validation, manufacturing, and vehicle teams
• Support development of system roadmaps aligned to platform needs and technology direction
• Participate in supplier selection and technical collaboration, supporting make/buy and implementation decisions
• Ensure disciplined engineering practices including requirements traceability, DFMEA/DRBFM participation, and validation planning
• Monitor execution progress, identify technical risks, and drive timely issue resolution
• Promote consistent documentation, configuration management, and lifecycle rigor
• Contribute to department planning through resource forecasting and prioritization
• Champion a strong team culture focused on quality and continuous improvement

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Minimum 7 years of experience in systems engineering for embedded display, IVI, HMI, or adjacent vehicle E/E domains
• Demonstrated experience leading engineers or providing technical leadership on complex programs
• Experience across the systems lifecycle including requirements development, interface management, integration, and verification
• Hands-on experience with display or IVI platforms such as Android Automotive, QNX, or embedded Linux
• Working knowledge of in-vehicle communications such as CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, and Ethernet
• Familiarity with requirements management tools and traceability practices
• Awareness of functional safety concepts and cybersecurity considerations in connected systems
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work with domestic and international teams and suppliers
• Travel as needed based on program and partner requirements

The starting pay range for Minnesota is $126,000 to $160,000 per year. Individual salaries and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors, it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range.
