JOB DESCRIPTION:
As an Electrical Engineer, you will design, test, and integrate high-power electrical systems that enable next-generation hybrid-electric propulsion and mission equipment. You’ll take ownership of projects from concept through deployment—collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, leading design reviews, and supporting field testing. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in power engineering and thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced environment where precision and innovation drive results.
DUTIES:
- Design and test power electronics including ESCs, inverters, and rectifiers.
- Develop and validate generator systems for hybrid-electric propulsion.
- Support design, integration, and thermal management of battery systems.
- Implement high-voltage distribution and grounding strategies for aircraft platforms.
- Diagnose and validate electrical systems using oscilloscopes, DAQs, and multimeters.
- Collaborate with controls, avionics, mechanical, and aero teams to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Contribute to ground and flight test activities with hands-on hardware debugging and data collection.
- Document design work, validation procedures, and test results for internal and external reviews.
SKILLS:
- Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, or an individual granted asylum/refugee status, in accordance with ITAR/EAR regulations).
- Bachelor’s degree (BS) or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 2+ years of relevant experience (aviation, automotive, robotics, or similar industries).
- Strong background in power engineering, high-power systems, and energy storage.
- Experience with DC generators, motor controllers, and battery pack design.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and validate systems above 5,000 watts.
- Proficiency with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, DAQs).
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS:
- Experience with Altium Designer for PCB layout.
- Previous PCB design and validation experience.
- Familiarity with hybrid-electric or aerospace power systems.
- Hands-on experience integrating electrical systems with multidisciplinary platforms.
BONUS:
- Prior experience working on airborne or high-reliability electrical systems.
- Familiarity with certification standards for aerospace or automotive power systems.
- Passion for our mission to revolutionize wildfire mitigation through autonomous aerospace technology.
EXPECTED HOURS/SCHEDULE:
Full Time: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
