Program Summary

KBR is searching for an experienced Electrical Engineer to study, design, prepare specifications, and perform services related to electrical and electronic systems employed on aircraft and missile systems.

Our Electrical Engineering group is committed to supporting our customers across multiple military aircraft, service depots, and the supply chain management squadrons. Our Electrical Engineers have incredible opportunities to work on multiple aspects of Electrical Engineering, expanding their potential, and delivering outstanding performance. KBR is seeking a skilled and highly motivated Electrical Engineer to join our Clearfield Team. A successful candidate will play a key role in performing schematic analysis, simulations, system design, and design validations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for study, design, specification, reverse engineering, and services related to electrical and electronic systems including power supplies, generators, motors, power systems performance and control, cabling and wiring, circuit card assemblies, specialized electromechanical devices, programming etc.
  • Devises and suggests new approaches to problems encountered. Conducts work requiring independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Performs work which involves conventional engineering practice and complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements.
  • Design and develop electrical systems for aerospace applications, including avionics, power distribution, and control systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system integration and adherence to industry standards.
  • Conduct thorough system analyses, simulations, and tests to validate performance and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to electrical systems effectivity.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including specifications, test plans, and detailed reports.
  • Participate in design reviews, providing valuable technical insights to enhance system performance.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in aerospace electrical engineering.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance.
  • Candidate must have effective verbal and written communication skills; must be able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences or facilitate group discussions; develop accurate written materials to communicate information clearly and concisely.
  • Proven track record of electrical engineering analysis and implementation process.

Preferred Skills

  • Proficient understanding and working knowledge of LabView/LabWindows CVI, SolidWorks Electrical, NI Circuit Design Pro, power simulation software, Altium, LTspice, and programming languages,
  •  Understanding of electrical and PCB design principles, and knowledge of various board technologies (e.g., RF, digital, analog).
  • Strong fundamentals in EE concepts; transistor operation, signal integrity and transmission lines, timing analysis, digital logic.
  • Proficiency with standard hardware lab equipment including scopes, logic and spectrum analyzers, signal generators, eLoads and protocol analyzers.
  • Experience and knowledge of reliability, maintainability, and supportability challenges due to aging and obsolete components.
  • Knowledge and understanding experience with root cause analysis.
  • Effective communication skills and a proven ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Experience collaborating within a multi-disciplinary systems engineering team.
  • Experience evaluating commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components for compliance.
  • Knowledge of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) mitigation techniques.
  • Skill in interpreting data and verifying product documentation, designs, layouts, or drawings for adequacy and reliability.
  • Familiarity with designing and testing to meet U.S. government and military specifications.

  • Full time, 80% on site, remote 20% (Hybrid)
  • Travel will be required 10% of the time
