Join Beneq as an Electrical Engineer – Shape the Future of ALD Research Tools!

Many breakthroughs in materials science, energy and microelectronics begin in a research lab, on an Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) tool. Those tools have to be flexible, safe and electrically reliable. At Beneq, we build them.

We’re looking for an Electrical Engineer to join the TFS product team in our Advanced ALD Business Unit. You’ll design the electrical systems behind our TFS ALD equipment, which is used by universities, research institutes and corporate R&D labs around the world. This is a hands-on engineering role. You’ll take designs from schematics and customer-specific modifications all the way to certified, fully documented deliveries, working closely with mechanical and automation engineers along the way.

As a global leader in ALD solutions, Beneq offers the opportunity to work on technology that enables the next generation of thin film innovation. Many of our deliveries include customer-specific configurations, so you’ll regularly solve new design challenges. You’ll also see the direct impact of your work on equipment used at the forefront of science.

If you’re an Electrical Engineer who enjoys variety, thrives in cross-disciplinary collaboration and is always looking for ways to make things work better, we’d love to hear from you.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain electrical structures, schematics and related documents for Beneq’s TFS ALD equipment.

  • Prepare product purchase structures for customer deliveries and design customer-specific modifications.

  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards (CE, UL) and related requirements.

  • Support certification processes and maintain the technical documentation needed for regulatory compliance.

  • Work with software/automation and mechanical engineers to ensure seamless system integration.

  • Support internal teams on electrical performance questions, both in TFS and across other Advanced ALD product teams.

  • Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and new technology adoption, and contribute to new product development.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years in electrical system design, including low-voltage and high-power systems. Close-but-not-exact experience is worth a conversation.

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

  • Proficiency in EPLAN and AutoCAD or a similar electrical design tool.

  • Working knowledge of electrical safety and CE, UL, EMI/EMC and IEC certification requirements.

  • Familiarity with PLC systems, especially Siemens S7.

  • Understanding of functional safety systems in relation to electrical design.

  • A detail-oriented, quality-focused approach, plus strong problem-solving, collaboration and communication skills.

Bonus Skills That Set You Apart

  • Qualification for conducting electrical installations.

  • Experience in thin film processing equipment (ALD, PVD, CVD or PECVD).

  • Knowledge of ERP and PDM systems such as SAP and Aton.

Why Join Beneq?

You’ll work with one of the world’s top ALD teams at the forefront of thin film innovation. Our environment is collaborative and supportive, and the hierarchy is flat enough that your work is visible. We offer a competitive salary, strong work-life balance, and opportunities for professional growth and continuous learning in a high-tech, international company.
