Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to join our solar project team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining electrical systems for utility-scale and/or commercial solar photovoltaic (PV) projects.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop electrical systems for solar PV projects, including single-line diagrams, load calculations, wire sizing, grounding, and protection schemes.
Prepare electrical drawings, specifications, and documentation using CAD or similar design software.
Conduct site assessments and support feasibility studies with solar irradiation analysis and load evaluation.
Ensure all designs comply with local codes (NEC, IEC), utility standards, and project requirements.
Coordinate with procurement and construction teams to ensure appropriate selection of electrical components (inverters, transformers, switchgear, etc.).
Perform power system studies (load flow, short-circuit, grounding, arc-flash).
Support installation and commissioning activities; troubleshoot electrical issues as they arise during construction and startup.
Liaise with utilities for grid interconnection studies and permitting.
Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Education & Experience:
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 2 years of experience in solar or ground mount renewable energy projects.
Skills & Competencies:
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Familiarity with SCADA systems and remote monitoring platforms is a plus.
