Engineer the systems that keep a world-class manufacturing operation running.At Novelis Uhrichsville, you'll do far more than maintain existing equipment. You'll be the technical leader driving the reliability, performance, and modernization of complex electrical and automation systems across a high-volume manufacturing facility.
This role offers the opportunity to own critical projects from concept through implementation, solve challenging equipment and process issues, and make a direct impact on safety, uptime, productivity, and operational performance. You'll work across a diverse range of industrial technologies including power distribution systems, AC/DC drives and motors, instrumentation, controls, and automation platforms, partnering closely with operations, maintenance, reliability, and engineering teams.

Reporting to the Engineering, Maintenance, Reliability & Automation (EMRA) Leader, you will serve as a key technical resource for electrical systems and reliability initiatives throughout the plant.
What You'll DoDrive Equipment Reliability & Performance- Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of complex electrical, instrumentation, and control system issues that impact production, safety, and equipment availability.
- Identify root causes of recurring failures and implement long-term corrective actions that improve reliability and reduce downtime.
- Apply modern diagnostic tools and engineering methods to optimize equipment performance and operational efficiency.
- Design, specify, and manage electrical system upgrades, equipment modifications, and modernization projects.
- Support the installation, commissioning, startup, and performance validation of new equipment and technologies.
- Provide technical leadership in selecting replacement equipment and developing standardized solutions that improve maintainability and lifecycle performance.
- Serve as the plant's electrical engineering subject matter expert for:
- Medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems
- AC and DC motors and drives
- Instrumentation and process control systems
- Electrical maintenance systems
- Machine and personnel safety systems
- Collaborate closely with operations, maintenance, contractors, and vendors to develop practical solutions that improve plant performance.
- Ensure all equipment modifications and engineering activities meet corporate standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Develop and improve engineering, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures that enhance safety, reliability, and efficiency.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational excellence, environmental stewardship, and workplace safety.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, equivalent engineering discipline, or 10+ years of electrical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with:
- AC and DC motor control systems
- Medium- and low-voltage switchgear
- Industrial electrical control systems
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Location ProfileOpened in 1985 the Uhrichsville facility produces flat rolled aluminum coil. The Recycling mill prepares scrap aluminum that is used in the rolling mill to create rolled aluminum coils to a desired gauge. Anneals temper the aluminum then it is leveled and sized to customer specification. Employing more than 400 people the facility produces aluminum sheet for building and construction automotive distribution transportation and consumer durable applications.
