We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to provide engineering and technical support for electrical systems associated with heavy civil and perimeter security construction projects. This role supports electrical design, construction coordination, field inspections, testing, commissioning, and project documentation while working closely with project management, field teams, subcontractors, vendors, clients, and other engineering disciplines.
What You’ll Do- Design, develop, review, and support electrical systems, equipment, and installations for construction projects.
- Prepare and review electrical drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Perform electrical calculations, including load, voltage drop, short circuit, grounding, and equipment sizing calculations.
- Review construction drawings and specifications to identify design conflicts, discrepancies, and constructability issues.
- Coordinate electrical requirements with civil, structural, mechanical, architectural, and other project disciplines.
- Assist with electrical material and equipment selection, procurement, technical evaluations, and submittal reviews.
- Prepare and respond to RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other technical inquiries.
- Conduct field inspections and observations to verify electrical installations are completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Coordinate electrical construction activities with project management, field supervision, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and inspectors.
- Monitor electrical construction progress and identify potential technical, schedule, or installation issues.
- Support testing, startup, and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical and installation issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Ensure electrical installations comply with applicable codes, standards, project specifications, and safety requirements.
- Prepare technical reports, inspection documentation, engineering calculations, and project records.
- Assist with electrical quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, progress measurements, and change documentation.
- Track project schedules and support planning and sequencing of electrical activities using Primavera P6 Professional and/or Microsoft Project.
- Review contractor schedules and monitor critical electrical activities, milestones, and potential delays.
- Support project closeout, including as-built drawings, testing and commissioning records, warranties, O&M manuals, and other required documentation.
- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, systems, and construction practices.
- Ability to read, interpret, and develop electrical drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of electrical calculations, equipment sizing, grounding, distribution, and related engineering requirements.
- Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and safety requirements.
- Ability to identify design conflicts, installation issues, and constructability concerns and develop practical solutions.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively coordinate electrical work with construction teams and other engineering disciplines.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple technical priorities, deadlines, and project requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
- Ability to periodically work outdoors and safely navigate active construction sites in varying weather and site conditions, including rough or uneven terrain.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while on construction sites.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university required.
- Previous electrical engineering experience supporting construction, infrastructure, industrial, or similar projects preferred.
- Experience with electrical design, construction coordination, field inspections, testing, and commissioning preferred.
- Experience with power distribution, grounding, controls, low-voltage systems, or related electrical infrastructure preferred.
- Experience preparing or reviewing RFIs, submittals, change orders, technical calculations, and construction documentation preferred.
- Experience with electrical estimating, quantity takeoffs, and progress tracking preferred.
- Experience with Primavera P6 Professional and/or Microsoft Project preferred.
- Proficiency with applicable electrical design and engineering software preferred.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus but not required.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
