The Production & Maintenance Electrical Engineer will support electrical production activities, panel testing, pump test-bed readiness, and maintenance of electrical equipment used in manufacturing and testing. This role is suitable for a diploma holder with strong hands-on shop-floor experience, practical troubleshooting ability, and a safety-first approach.

Key Accountabilities

Production Electrical Support

  • Support daily production activities related to electrical panels, pump control systems, VFD assemblies, AHF panels, MCC panels, IPS/IPC panels, and associated wiring work.
  • Carry out inspection of wiring, components, protection devices, earthing, cable termination, ferruling, and control logic as per approved drawings and BOM.
  • Perform continuity checks, insulation resistance (IR) tests, functional checks, interlock verification, and safety checks before panel release.
  • Upload, verify, and support basic controller/VFD parameter settings as per approved test procedure and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with production, quality, engineering, PEG, and testing teams for issue resolution and production priority closure.
  • Support pump performance testing activities by ensuring electrical systems, motor connections, VFD settings, and instruments are ready before testing.
  • Monitor and record electrical parameters such as voltage, current, power consumption, frequency, motor speed, and VFD status during testing.
  • Assist in customer or third-party witness testing by ensuring electrical readiness, safe operation, and proper documentation support.

Documentation, Safety & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain test records, maintenance logs, inspection checklists, breakdown reports, and corrective action records.
  • Follow electrical safety procedures, lockout-tagout (LOTO), permit-to-work requirements, and standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to panel testing, maintenance reliability, testing efficiency, accuracy, and safety.

Tools & Equipment

  • IPS/IPC panels, VFD assembly panels, AHF panels, MCC panels, pump control panels, motor starters, and shop-floor electrical panels.
  • Multimeters, megger, clamp meters, power analysers, 4-20 mA injector kit, electrical tool kit, and basic calibration/test accessories.
  • Pump test beds, motor connections, VFDs, control circuits, instrumentation wiring, cranes, hoists, and electrical maintenance tools.
  • Electrical drawings, panel drawings, BOM, test procedures, maintenance checklists, ERP/shop-floor documentation systems.

Education & Experience

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in production electrical support, electrical maintenance, panel testing, pump testing, or manufacturing industry.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical panels, motors, VFDs, control circuits, electrical troubleshooting, and maintenance activities.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, GA drawings, BOM, and technical specifications.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong practical knowledge of electrical systems, motors, VFDs, control panels, protection devices, and shop-floor electrical safety.
  • Good troubleshooting approach with ability to identify root cause and support corrective actions.
  • High attention to detail in wiring verification, testing, documentation, and maintenance records.
  • Ability to work closely with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and ability to coordinate with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering.
