Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Technical responsibilities include: 

  • Collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to establish architecture content and develop solutions that achieve customer needs.   
  • Having a fundamental knowledge of Systems Engineering practices, network technologies, system development life cycles and methodologies, and insight into information technology infrastructure management/monitoring and applications.  
  • Providing analysis, design, development, implementation and security assessments to ensure compliance with JSIG/RMF Continuous Monitoring tools and processes.  
  • Performing system-level analyses, determining and undertaking necessary trade studies, define and allocate the functional requirements to subsystem. 
  • Ensuring all program requirements are met, program risks are identified and mitigated, and company processes are followed. 
  • Recommending and implementing system enhancements which will improve the performance, reliability, and security of the system including installing, upgrading, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration 

Qualifications and Education Requirements  

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with minimum 7 years of prior related experience; or 5 to 10 years of aircraft simulation related job experience. 
  • Experience supporting military or defense programs 
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management 
  • Strong critical thinking and logical reasoning skills with the ability to solve issues and predict potential programmatic and technical risks. 
  • Proven track record of building relationships, fostering collaboration and working cross-functionally with multidisciplinary teams. 
  • Must be detail oriented with a good knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of Electrical Engineering.  
  • Experience with CAD software, preference to AutoCAD. 
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting customer needs into achievable requirements or capabilities. 
  • Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance that has been granted or renewed in the last 5 years. 
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Program Access
  • Flexibility to support occasional overtime, weekend work, shift work and site travel (CONUS) 
  • Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role. 

Preferred Skills  

  • Experience working in air-gapped, classified, or highly secure environments with no direct internet access. 
  • Lab equipment experience and familiarity with hand tools. 
  • Hands on support of manufacturing. 
  • Understanding of ANSI and ASME standards. 
  • Familiarity with Mil Standard parts. 
  • Military or Aviation maintenance experience. 
  • Current Special Access Program (SAP) access 

Security Responsibilities  

Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures.  Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form.  Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know.  Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval.  All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.   

  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.  
  • Incumbent must not have ever been denied a DoD Personal Security Clearance. 

Work Environment  

This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.  This role also works with various aircraft simulator equipment (avionic cockpits, visual systems, electronic cabinets). 

 

Physical Demands  

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.   

  • Ability to travel to site for extended periods of time. 
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time. 
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. to various heights. 
  • Ability to work overtime and shifts as needed.  
  • Ability to travel CONUS. 
  • Ability to climb stairs.
