Position Summary

As an Electrical Engineer in Test, you will work under the umbrella of the quality assurance team creating validation and verification testing criteria to ensure our products meet the needs of our customer and all regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure comprehensive testing of subcircuits that are incorporated into larger designs
  • Create and execute Engineering Verification Test (EVT) procedures and write reports documenting EVT test results
  • Troubleshoot issues uncovered in EVT, DVT, and reported by customers in the field
  • Test cable assemblies
  • Testing drone related hardware aspects such as battery management systems, electronic speed controllers, flight controllers and signal integrity across multiple electrical components
  • Participate in design reviews
  • Perform detailed tests of library components, footprints, and symbols
  • Work with manufacturing test engineers and electrical engineers to develop production line tests by leveraging the engineering validation test procedures and results
  • Create, maintain and execute test suites around firmware changes
  • Automate test suites to eliminate human error, increase efficiency and decrease testing time
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Proficiency in use of laboratory test equipment such a multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
  • Excellent communication skills in writing reports and corresponding with manufacturers
  • Basic experience in Altium Designer
  • Basic experience with a SPICE-based circuit simulator
  • Experience with Firmware, Hardware Interfaces and Protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, MIPI, USB and RS-232
  • Experience with Microcontrollers, Bootloaders and Flashing tools
  • Experience using a programming language to automate testing, interface with test equipment, and process and visualize test results (Python is preferred)
Additional Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working with Battery Management Systems is a strong plus
  • Experience with Radios and antennas is a strong plus
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Must be able to walk, stand, and navigate large indoor and outdoor facilities for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials and equipment weighing up to 25 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required in designated areas or when performing specific tasks, in accordance with safety protocols and company policy.
  • May be required to climb ladders, stoop, kneel, or crouch during inspections, maintenance walk-throughs, or emergency response situations.
  • Regular exposure to facility operations including noise, dust, temperature fluctuations, and industrial equipment.
  • Occasional off-hours or weekend work required for emergency facility responses or projects as needed
  • Requires frequent use of a computer and other standard office equipment for documentation, communication, and coordination tasks.

Skills Required
