Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking an Electrical Engineer or Principal Electrical Engineer- Specializing in Aircraft Ground and Flight Test to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Lab Test and Engineering Organization (LTEO). This role is located at Eglin AFB, FL.
In this LTEO role you will be supporting aircraft systems development and qualification within a laboratory environment. Duties will consist of assisting in laboratory design, test planning and preparation, scheduling test events, and leading the execution of test procedures. Additionally, you will ensure test stations and assets are configured and ready to test by deploying software and configuring hardware. You will work closely with Quality Assurance to maintain and validate test station software and hardware configurations. Your efforts will contribute to test readiness reviews, conducting briefings, performing acceptance testing and integration events. The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels.
Key responsibilities include:
• Support development and integration of electronic warfare subsystems and components to meet platform mission objectives
• Lead test events ranging from developmental to formal testing
• Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders
• Establish and maintain standards of test conduct and rigor
• Effectively manage lab configuration through detailed documentation
• Accurately communicate lab and test status to leadership via written and oral means
• Troubleshoot component and system level issues/discrepancies
This position mainly operates on our 9/80 schedule, which means you will get every other Friday off, however, shift schedules are flexible and can change to meet customer demands. There will be phenomenal learning opportunities, and exposure to a wide variety of projects and customers, all while working in a very friendly team environment. Basic Qualification for Electrical Engineer
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 2 years of related experience in Engineering, OR 1 Years with Masters.
- Your ability to transfer and maintain the Final adjudicated U.S. government Top Secret Security Clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.
- Experience in Aircraft Ground Test and Operations.
- Experienced in reading and comprehending schematic diagrams.
- Experienced using test equipment, such as digital multimeters, O-scopes, power supplies, etc.
- Familiarity with avionics systems and equipment, Test Stations, or Lab Operations.
- Experience with software deployments and deployments tools.
- Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Basic Qualifications for Principal Electrical Engineer
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 5 years of related experience in Engineering, OR 3 Years with Masters, OR 1 Year with PhD.
- Your ability to transfer and maintain the Final adjudicated U.S. government Top Secret Security Clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.
- Experience in Aircraft Ground Test and Operations.
- Experienced in reading and comprehending schematic diagrams.
- Experienced using test equipment, such as digital multimeters, O-scopes, power supplies, etc.
- Familiarity with avionics systems and equipment, Test Stations, or Lab Operations.
