What you will do
Johnson Controls is seeking an Electrical Engineer for our Product Electrical Engineering team in our HVAC Engineering department at our New Freedom, PA, location. n this role, you will have the opportunity to oversee the system electrical design of air- and water-cooled chillers, as well as provide support to production, laboratory, service, applications, and marketing teams, globally, for new and existing product offerings.

How you will do it
Define, interpret, and implement design solutions, ensuring alignment with performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirements.
Drive the successful development and sustainment of electrical systems for air-cooled screw/scroll and water-cooled chiller platforms by providing technical ownership across design, testing, implementation, and product lifecycle activities.
Provide ownership of global engineering documentation, ensuring accurate and timely deliverables that support design, manufacturing, and long-term product sustainment.
Investigate and evaluate product design proposals for electrical power panels, control panel, variable speed drive, and wire harness designs to ensure compliance with UL, NEC, CSA, and CE standards
Develop and implement repeatable workflows and best practices to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and ensure consistent delivery of results.
Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams, providing technical direction and facilitating alignment to ensure successful project execution
Use standard and sophisticated technical and mathematical principles, theories, concepts, and techniques
Continuously increases expertise in all aspects of chiller electrical design, theory, construction, operation, and applications
What we look for
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field
1-3 years of system level electrical and panel design
Ability to travel up to 10%
US Citizenship and/or Permanent Residents of the US
Preferred
Experience designing and delivering industrial products in engineer-to-order, applied, or made-to-order' environments
Working knowledge of chiller control systems, including electrical controls, system integration, and troubleshooting
Proficiency with AutoCAD for creating, reviewing, and maintaining electrical and engineering drawings and documentation
Familiarity with HVAC Systems and motor-driven mechanical engineering design
Experience utilizing mechanical system design tools and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems to support product development and manufacturing operations
Demonstrated experience applying and interpreting industry regulatory standards and certifications, including UL, NEC, CSA, and CE requirements
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $75,000 - $90,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
