About the role Job SummaryThe Sr. Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems and components. This role applies engineering knowledge to support the planning, testing, and implementation of mechanical and electromechanical systems.
This job profile is intended for experienced professionals who apply practical knowledge of a job area and work independently with general supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Management of the assigned Electrical design projects from Sales order review stage to handover to production.
- Review of Motor vendor offers against specs & deviations - Based on request from Sales & Tendering – Assume 10-15 % of tenders max for critical cases.
- Discuss the vendor deviations with Customer for acceptance before order.
- Discuss and Finalize with Vendor on deviations not accepted by Customer and prepare a technical risk sheet along with mitigation plan during execution.
- Advice on technical matters for preselecting motor & drive vendors to Advance procurement.
- Review of Selected motor & VFD vendor documents in details – Post order 100%.
- Complete review and Ensure compliance to specifications.
- Checking of Customer comments on motor & drive comments & resolution to get quick manufacturing clearance.
- Facilitate final approval of motor & drives manufacturing.
- Facilitate technical closure of Final Documentation and IOM with Vendor and Customer.
- Communicate with Customers & sub-suppliers as necessary.
- Support & coordinate with different teams of Project management, Operations, Purchase, Sales, Quality & Testing during the complete cycle of the order execution.
- Provide engineering support to Site commissioning team until successful operation of the equipment supplied.
- Proactively engage & support company initiatives designed to promote a culture of safe working, environmental protection and continual improvement
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from reputed institute.
- 5-10 years of experience in Electrical Equipment design field mainly Motors and VFD drives.
- Conversant with the use of the SAP ERP tool.
- Independent and proactive with good communication & interpersonal skills.
- Managed and executed multiple tasks while taking direction from several sources.
- High sense of ownership, strong work ethic, focused on details and results oriented.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly and drive for Excellency & Competency.
