The Role
Support board bring-up, debugging, and validation for V1 electrical systems. Perform lab debugging with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers, execute board- and system-level test plans, characterize power electronics, assist with schematic capture and layout review, troubleshoot integrations with mechanical and firmware teams, and document test results and design iterations.

Heavy infrastructure cannot be built fast enough to fulfill the promises of reindustrialization. With labor availability tightening and the workforce aging, construction faces a multi-trillion-dollar execution gap over the next decade. We’re building a construction robotics platform designed for outdoor environments, heavy payloads, and immediate deployment. We’re partnering with the largest heavy construction firms to put robots on sites for material handling now, building hardware, data, and commercial moats to bring end-to-end autonomy to construction. Robots are folding clothes and washing dishes, while dangerous and heavy work in remote environments remain manual. Furthermore, construction firms cannot physically fulfill their contracts — they should not have to choose between building a hospital or a data center. Join us to build a robotics platform that delivers real value immediately, saving lives and bringing abundance to construction. Backed by a $5.2 million seed round led by Founders Fund, the team is developing robots for outdoor, high-payload job site work with a focus on immediate deployment and autonomy that delivers value immediately. We’re partnering with the largest heavy construction firms to put robots on sites to handle material now, building hardware, data, and commercial moats to bring end-to-end autonomy to construction.
We are looking for an Electrical Engineering Intern to support Strata's founding electrical engineer in bringing up V1's electrical system. This person will help drive board bring-up, debugging, and validation across power electronics and mixed-signal subsystems, working hands-on with real hardware in a fast-moving development environment. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to get deep into board-level debugging and power electronics on a robot that has to work reliably in demanding field conditions.
- Support board bring-up for V1, including design, functional verification, and debugging across power electronics and mixed-signal boards.
- Help debug hardware and firmware issues across multi-board systems, using lab tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters.
- Assist in developing and executing board- and system-level test plans to validate performance against design requirements.
- Support schematic capture, layout review, and component selection under the guidance of the founding electrical engineer.
- Characterize power electronics circuits (DC/DC and DC/AC converters) for performance, efficiency, and reliability.
- Help troubleshoot integration issues between electrical, mechanical, and firmware systems.
- Document test results, debug findings, and design iterations to support engineering rigor as the electrical team scales.
- Pursuing a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with PCB design, familiar with EDA tools such as Altium Designer.
- Experience with board bring-up, debugging, and validation of hardware systems.
- Background in power electronics and mixed-signal design.
- Comfort working in an electronics lab, using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and similar tools.
- Familiarity with embedded systems and common communication protocols (Ethernet, CAN, UART, SPI) is a plus.
- Experience in build-focused teams such as Formula SAE, rocket team, CubeSat, or similar is strongly preferred.
The base pay range for this role is $5,000 – $6,000 per month.
