Job Summary
The Electrical Engineer provides electrical engineering support for hydroelectric generation facilities, partnering with project managers and site teams to scope, troubleshoot, and execute electrical and hydro-related work. The role supports a high volume of capital and maintenance projects and requires hands-on experience in hydro or utility power plant environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide electrical engineering support for hydroelectric generation facilities
• Work directly with 15+ project managers to define technical scope, troubleshoot issues, and develop electrical solutions
• Support multiple concurrent projects across electrical and hydro disciplines
• Perform routine to moderately complex engineering analyses and prepare technical documentation
• Coordinate with engineering, project management, and site personnel to support project execution
• Comply with all safety requirements, including FR clothing and standard PPE while onsite
Requirements
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
o Other engineering disciplines may be considered if the candidate holds a PE in Electrical Engineering
• Proven experience supporting hydroelectric or utility power plant electrical systems
• Experience working in an operational power generation environment
• Ability to manage and prioritize work across multiple projects and stakeholders
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or willingness to pursue PE
• Prior experience in a regulated utility environment
• Experience supporting capital projects at hydro facilities
Work Environment & Travel
• Based at Bad Creek hydro facility with travel to additional sites as needed
• Travel to support projects multiple times per week
• Mileage and travel expenses reimbursed per policy
• Per diem offered only for travel to other Hydro sites (excluding Bad Creek base location)
Benefits
Max pay rate for this role is $ - $58.88 per hour.
