Position Summary:

This job description outlines the primary duties expected for this role but does not limit the employee to only these responsibilities. The employee may be required to perform additional tasks as needed.

The Electrical Engineer II is responsible for the development and implementation of electrical designs and systems within multidisciplinary programs at Knight Aerospace. The goal is to efficiently design electrical components and systems that are safe, innovative, and of high quality. The Electrical Engineer II will represent the Company and its values and will ensure that expectations are met by performing the following duties:

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Develops electrical system specifications, designs, and electrical-mechanical interfaces.

· Identify, formulate, and produce effective solutions to emerging problems with minimal guidance.

· Integrate products with aircraft electrical systems.

· Develop connector and circuit breaker panels.

· Prepare product drawing and technical documentation.

· Establish budget, quality, and schedule deliverables for individual.

· Promotes learning from successes and problems within the group and across the corporation.

· Develop energy audits and protocols.

· Incorporate selection, layout, sizing, and applicable system and equipment.

· Comply with project schedules, regulatory requirements, and industry’s best practices.

· Provide support for other department activities as required including drawings, work instructions, and coordinating the shipment of deliverables.

Requirements

General Expectations:

· Has a high proficiency operating Auto Cad/Draft Sight, SolidWorks, and SolidWorks PDM or equivalent

· High proficiency in electrical circuit analysis tools (Pspice/KiCAD/etc.)

· Experience with software/firmware programming and creation (C++/HMI/Python/Ladder Logic/etc.)

· High proficiency with computer aided electrical routing and large assemblies/ systems

· High aptitude in reading and creating block diagrams, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

· Takes the initiative to find innovative ways of solving complex design issues.

· Has a working knowledge of UL, FAA, and Military standards

· Will be team oriented and able to take lead on projects in the group.

· Liaison with planning, production, and quality

· Reflects the Company’s values in all communications and activities.

· Able to sit or stand for long periods of time.

· Ability to effectively communicate orally and in written form, internally and externally.

· High proficiency with electrical power, signal analysis, and control system theory.

· High proficiency with low and high voltage system design

· Proficient in troubleshooting methodologies.

· Motor control system experience is preferred.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor of Science Degree Electrical Engineering

2. Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience in the aerospace industry

3. Sound knowledge of the application of engineering principles

4. Must have a valid driver’s license.

5. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six-Sigma, and/or other production methodologies (preferred) 

Work Environment Requirements:

1. International and domestic travel in support of product designs, implementations, or ongoing service

2. Extensive interaction with production floor activities

Work Conditions:

· This is an Exempt, Full-Time Position. Warehouse and office environment

Skills Required
