BAE Systems is seeking an Electrical Engineer with 3 to 6 years of experience to support the design, integration, qualification, production, and sustainment of the AN/SPN-50(V)1 Shipboard Air Traffic Radar (SATR) system. The AN/SPN-50(V)1 provides shipboard air traffic control surveillance capability for aircraft identification, sequencing and separation, airspace containment, safety alerting, weather processing, and landing guidance in naval aviation environments.
The selected engineer will apply practical electrical engineering experience across RF and radar performance assessment, digital signal processing, target identification parameters, electrical power interfaces, thermal and environmental stability, built-in test, diagnostics, reliability metrics, and system-level verification. The role requires close collaboration with systems, RF, software, mechanical, manufacturing, test, quality, supplier, and naval integration teams to deliver a rugged, reliable, maintainable shipboard radar capability for demanding maritime operations.
The successful candidate is a detail-oriented electrical engineer who can work independently while collaborating effectively across disciplines. They are comfortable moving between RF performance analysis, digital signal processing, electrical power interfaces, environmental stability, diagnostics, reliability assessment, integration, test, production support, and shipboard constraints. They bring strong engineering judgment, practical problem-solving skills, curiosity, and a commitment to delivering reliable radar capability that supports naval aviation operations.
The work environment is a rapid development environment as part of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers who designs, develops, evaluates, verifies, and provides in-service engineering support for the Navy's Aircraft Launch and Recovery system. This position may require travel in support of system product installation, system operation verification and testing, and certification.
