Electrical Engineer – San Antonio, TX
Knight Aerospace is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer II to join our Engineering team in San Antonio, TX.
This position supports the development and implementation of electrical designs and systems for multidisciplinary aerospace programs, including aircraft electrical system integration, electrical-mechanical interfaces, schematics, wiring diagrams, connector and circuit breaker panels, and technical documentation.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
- 8 years of engineering experience in the aerospace industry
- Experience with aircraft electrical systems and integration
- Strong experience creating and reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and block diagrams
- Experience with AutoCAD/DraftSight, SolidWorks, electrical routing, and circuit analysis tools
- Working knowledge of FAA, Military, and applicable electrical standards
- Ability to support production and troubleshoot electrical issues
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
- Must be able to work 100% on-site in San Antonio, TX
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $80,000–$90,000, depending on experience
- Annual Bonus: 5% target
- 409A Program: Participation in the company's 409A program

Schedule:
- Full-time, minimum 40 hours per week
- Monday–Thursday: 9.5 hours per day
- Friday: 4 hours

Position Summary:
The Electrical Engineer II is responsible for the development and implementation of electrical designs and systems within multidisciplinary programs at Knight Aerospace. This will include efficiently designing electrical components and systems that are safe, innovative, and of high quality. The Electrical Engineer II will represent the Company and its values and will ensure that expectations are met.
Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develops electrical system specifications, designs, and electrical-mechanical interfaces.
2. Identify, formulate, and produce effective solutions to emerging problems with minimal guidance.
3. Integrate products with aircraft electrical systems.
4. Develop connector and circuit breaker panels.
5. Prepare product drawing and technical documentation.
6. Establish budget, quality, and schedule deliverables for individual.
7. Support design of projects and apply current sustainability processes.
8. Promotes learning from successes and problems within the group and across the corporation.
9. Develops energy audits and protocols.
General Expectations:
1. Has a high proficiency operating Auto Cad/Draft Sight, SolidWorks, and SolidWorks PDM
2. High proficiency with SolidWorks electrical routing, and large assemblies/ systems
3. High aptitude in reading and creating block diagrams, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
4. Takes the initiative to find innovative ways of solving complex design issues.
5. Has a working knowledge of UL, FAA, and Military standards
6. Will be team oriented and take on a leadership role in the group.
7. Liaison with planning, production, and quality
8. Reflects the Company’s values in all communications and activities.
9. Able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
10. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in written form, internally and externally.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor of Science Degree Electrical Engineering
2. Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience in the aerospace industry
3. Sound knowledge of the application of engineering principles
4. Must have a valid driver’s license.
5. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six-Sigma, and/or other production methodologies (preferred)
Work Environment Requirements:
1. Full-Time Position
2. International and domestic travel in support of product designs, implementations, or ongoing service
3. Extensive interaction with production floor activities
