About the Role
Sierra Space is seeking an Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) Engineer to join our expanding team working across multiple space program. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the team designing EWIS solutions within Sierra Space. As a member of the EWIS team the successful candidate will be part of the team that integrates every other system into the space vehicle, habitat, or satellite system from an electrical perspective. There are multiple concurrent programs at Sierra Space, and we ensure that all members of the EWIS team participate across multiple programs to broaden their knowledge base through new experiences.

Primary Responsibilities:
A successful candidate shall be capable of learning the Siemens Capital Harness suite of tools with a basic understanding of Wiring Diagrams, Harness definition drawings, Harness Architecture drawings, Harness routing topology, Formboards and Installation drawings. The candidate shall have a basic understanding of Military and Commercial aerospace parts, and the application of EWIS components to ensure the designs meet the requirements. It is desired that candidates shall also possess the desire to learn multiple industry best practices for EWIS design and installation.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or other related discipline and typically 2 or more years of relevant experience
  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools
  • Familiarity with working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • The ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance Learn more about the background check process for Security Clearances


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to simulations through functional and logical models and system analysis
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
  • Understanding of EWIS deliverables (Wiring Diagrams, Harness definition drawings, Harness Architecture drawings, Harness routing topology, Formboards and Installation drawings).
  • Ability to learn the Siemens Capital suite (Capital Harness XC, Capital Logic, Capital Topology and Capital Device Modeler)
  • Familiarity with Siemens NX and TeamCenter.
  • Basic understanding of EWIS components and their applications
  • Basic understanding of EWIS industry standards (AS50881, AC 43.13-1B, EIA-364, DO-160, 25.1701 and IPC620)
  • Basic understanding of EMI/EMC and wire harness channelization
  • Ability to support development of EWIS Requirements, Processes and Methodologies
  • Basic understanding of the Validation and Verification process
  • Desire to learn and receive mentorship from experienced team members
  • Knowledge of MS Office suite
  • Great interpersonal skills with the desire to learn and the ability to take direction.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Physical/Mental/Emotional Requirements:

  • Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps
  • Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity

Estimated Starting Salary Range:
$79,264.96 - $108,989.33
