Description

The CCA Designer Electrical Engineer is responsible for updating existing designs due to obsolescence and functionality changes and creating new CCA designs as necessitated by customer requirements.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Provides mastery-level electrical engineering expertise to a team
  • Responsible for all electrical engineering aspects of product development, including
    • System and module level design definition
    • Schematic capture, circuit design, analysis, and simulation
    • Generation of product test procedures
    • Participates in hardware design reviews and Design Verification Testing
    • Participates  in failure analysis and root cause corrective action
  • Supports working group meetings with the customer and the internal teams responsible for end products
  • Works with technical team to identify, mitigate and close program risks, with a heavy focus on supply chain risks
  • Identifies and resolves technical issues and anomalies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to address discrepancies.
  • Collaborates with cross-discipline teams (systems, mechanical, structural, thermal, power, optical) in development, integration, and execution
  • Delivers products and services that meet cost, quality, and time expectations by working collaboratively with customers and employees
  • Ensures internal processes and programs produce products that meet or exceed customers’ expectations

Requirements

REQUIRED CAPABILITIES 

  • U.S. Citizenship required due to government contract requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated highly effective organization and team work skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Solid understanding of optical and electromechanical systems and hardware
  • Experience reverse engineering PCBAs, not just for obsolescence, but for optimization and next-generation development 
  • Ability to effectively communicate and transfer system architecture and design knowledge with other disciplines including systems, software and hardware engineering, manufacturing, program management, suppliers and customers
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Willingness to take on project ownership and accountability

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of ? years of prior relevant experience
  • Proficient with standard engineering software
