As part of this expansion, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Designer who will work closely with production, quality, and suppliers to resolve design challenges, select appropriate components, and ensure that our products meet safety, performance, and customer requirements. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both electrical design and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced, technical environment.

Main responsibilities:

· Prepare clear, accurate electrical schematics (single-line) and documentation in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and company guidelines.

· Support mechanical designers by providing input for 3D models, drawings, and submittals to ensure proper integration of electrical and mechanical components.

· Work collaboratively with the production team to resolve design and manufacturing issues, implementing changes that improve reliability, manufacturability, and serviceability.

· Collaborate with the quality department to analyze issues, develop corrective actions, and present technical solutions to customers when required.

· Select appropriate electrical low or medium voltage components (such as breakers, contactors, relays, sensors, and control devices) and work with suppliers to evaluate options, develop new concepts, and optimize design cost and performance.

· Interpret and follow design briefs, technical specifications, and applicable codes/standards to develop safe, robust, and innovative product solutions.

· Work with engineers to implement new designs, product enhancements, and improvements throughout the project lifecycle.

· Prepare necessary detail, assembly, wiring, cabling, routings, and arrangement drawings required for parts and equipment to be manufactured, assembled, erected, tested, and maintained, in accordance with health and safety policies and electrical standards.

· Create detailed layouts to define dimensions, routing, and clearances, ensuring that electrical components and wiring are properly integrated and accessible.

· Maintain organized and up-to-date design documentation, including drawing revisions, bills of materials (BOMs), and technical files.

· Participate in design and project review meetings, providing technical input and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

· Minimum associate’s engineering degree or high school diploma with at least 3 years relevant experience.

· Experience in industrial or panel manufacturing preferred.

· Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical or other electrical design software is an asset but not strictly required; training can be provided for strong candidates.

· Experience with ERP and PLM software BOM entry and coordination.

· Strong attention to detail with demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.

· Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

· Fluent in English, both spoken and written.

· Ability to effectively discuss designs and communicate technical concepts with colleagues across multiple disciplines, including mechanical, production, quality, purchasing, and sales.

· Capable of working under deadlines, managing multiple tasks, and maintaining high accuracy with minimal supervision.

· Strong organizational skills, with the ability to keep drawings, files, and documentation well-structured and easy to reference.

· Team-oriented mindset with a proven ability to collaborate, share knowledge, and contribute positively to a group environment.
