Electrical Design Engineer

We are in search of a Electrical Design Engineer to join our innovative team as our new #bloqstar. In this role, you'll play a crucial role in defining the electrification of our products and integrating advanced battery technology.

What you’ll be doing:

• Design and develop electrical systems and components, including battery systems, chargers, solar and power supplies;

• Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and harness layouts;

• Design and optimize battery systems, ensuring safety, efficiency, and reliability;

• Evaluate and select appropriate battery cell technologies

• Develop and implement charging solutions for various applications;

• Define the electrical harnesses, connector systems and other components such as Circuit Breakers, Contactors and UPS;

• Ensure compatibility and reliability of harnesses and connectors in different environmental conditions;

• Design and optimize lighting systems for energy efficiency and performance;

• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations;

• Conduct electrical testing and validation of components and systems;

• Create detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and reports.

What you’ll bring to the table:

• Live near Coimbra or Lisbon, being available to commute up to 2 times per week.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field;

• Proven experience in electrical system design, particularly in battery systems, chargers, harnesses, and connectors;

• Experience in PCB Design using Altium, KiCad or equivalent;

• Proficiency in CAD software for electrical design (EPLAN) and mechanical assemblies;

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct complex analyses;

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines;

It would be great if you would also have:

• Experience with solar integration and related technologies;

• Experience designing and implementing BMS and board-level power supplies (buck, boost, and flyback).
