We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to support the development, testing, certification, and ongoing improvement of power distribution and power protection equipment. This hands-on engineering role focuses on electrical design, component selection, troubleshooting, documentation, and product integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems at the product level, including component selection, thermal system design, mechanical packaging concepts, and interconnection hardware selection/design.
- Apply knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, magnetics, and thermal engineering.
- Develop engineering and technical design specifications for power protection systems.
- Design switchboard power and control circuits.
- Create and maintain engineering documentation, including bills of materials (BOMs) and schematics.
- Support the qualification and integration of third-party devices into power distribution equipment.
- Participate in hardware design reviews to evaluate product robustness and performance.
- Contribute to customer and manufacturing documentation, test procedures, and technical reports.
- Provide sustaining engineering support for both newly launched and legacy power protection systems.
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting of electrical systems and subsystems.
- Support product safety certifications with NRTL organizations and applicable UL, CSA, and IEC standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD drafting software.
- Experience designing power distribution solutions such as:
- PDU
- STS
- RPP
- Switchboards
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with basic electrical engineering laboratory equipment, including:
- Oscilloscopes
- Network analyzers
- Signal generators
- Other standard EE test equipment
- Experience with three-phase electrical systems and electrical power systems.
- Strong technical writing, documentation, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong laboratory, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Skills Required
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
