Designs, implements, troubleshoots, and modifies electrical control systems, panels, PLC programs, and manufacturing equipment controls. Develops engineering projects to improve manufacturing operations, selects control equipment, prepares specifications and cost estimates, supports capital planning, and advises plant leadership on equipment needs and issues.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for troubleshooting, modifying or creating new control systems, including PLC and other programming.

  • Responsible for advising Engineering Manager as to plant equipment needs and pending problem areas involving plant equipment;
  • Responsible for other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering;
  • A minimum of 2 years of Electrical Engineering / Control Systems Engineering experience is required, 4 years is preferred;
  • Experience with programming ladder logic is required;
  • Experience with troubleshooting, modifying, or creating new controls; including PLCs is required, experience with Allen Bradley is strongly preferred;
  • Experience with VFD drives, servo drives, IO racks is preferred;
  • Ability to create and read electrical schematics is preferred;
  • Ability to specify and size electrical components is preferred;
  • Experience with cost estimates is preferred.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
  • At least 2 years of Electrical Engineering or Control Systems Engineering experience
  • Four years of Electrical Engineering or Control Systems Engineering experience
  • Experience programming ladder logic
  • Experience troubleshooting, modifying, or creating control systems, including PLCs
  • Allen-Bradley experience
  • Experience with VFD drives, servo drives, and I/O racks
  • Ability to create and read electrical schematics
  • Ability to specify and size electrical components
  • Experience preparing cost estimates
