Join us as our new EHS Supervisor at the Araucária Production Plant in Paraná - Brazil.
We are seeking a proactive professional to become the EHS Supervisor for our largest production facility in Latin America, located in Araucária, Paraná.
Come and join forces with us to protect the safety and well-being of our people, safeguard our environment, push our sustainability agenda forward, and ensure Novonesis remains compliant with all EHS regulations.
In this role you’ll make an impact by:
- Leading daily activities and professional development of the EHS team on site and overseeing contracts with third-party service providers.
- Enforcing compliance with EHS regulations and representing the company before regulatory bodies, law enforcing institutions and insurance companies (e.g. Environmental Agency, Firefighting Department, etc.).
- Managing the renewal of permits and licenses and maintaining health and safety & environmental related programs (e.g. PGR, PCMSO, CIPA, etc.).
- Developing EHS plans in alignment with local and corporate goals and tracking performance regularly.
- Acting preventively to avoid safety and environmental events, but coordinating and monitoring incident responses, always promoting a structured problem-solving mindset.
- Reviewing and authorizing high-risk work permits to ensure safe execution of our operations.
- Planning and conducting integrated emergency drills and leading our internal emergency response team.
- Overseeing EHS documentation and training in accordance with labor and environmental regulations.
- Approving EHS aspects of engineering projects and leading sustainability initiatives.
- Being the EHS ambassador on site for Line of Business.
Experience requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering and specialization in Occupational Safety Engineering are mandatory.
- Additional education in environmental field is a plus.
- Previous experience in EHS management in industrial setups with direct people leadership is also mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of Brazilian labor and environmental regulations and ISO standards.
- Fluency in Portuguese and professional proficiency in English.
