Job Summary:
The EHS Specialist must be an experienced technical professional in the field of safety and environmental management. This person should have a successful history of the following responsibilities, manufacturing applications.
Health and Safety:
- Support & coordinate EHS culture, policy, programs, & standard operating procedures.
- Support & coordinate JHA's / JSA's / PDA's, mitigation controls
- Conduct compliance with facilities
- Identify and conduct EHS training.
- Assist in incident investigations, mitigations, trending & analysis
- Assist with recordable, lost workday, and restricted workday cases.
- Collect, compile, & maintain EHS training & systems records.
- Conduct & support frontline leadership training
- Support EHS coaching.
- Prepare and conduct EHS communications & Tier meetings.
- Support & coordinate EHS change mgt. applications.
- Support sustainability requirements and reporting.
- Support data collection, document control, recordkeeping
Environmental:
- Support & coordinate environmental culture, permits, policies, and overall compliance.
- Air - support air emissions, permits, inspections, recordkeeping, and change management.
- Water - support storm water, permits, inspections, recordkeeping, and change management.
- Waste - supports hazardous and universal waste, permits, inspections, recordkeeping, labeling and change management.
- EPCRA - support state level emergency planning, Tier II reporting and recordkeeping.
- SPCC - support spill control and countermeasures compliance, program, recordkeeping.
- ISO 14001 – administer program and compliance, registrar audits, and corrective actions.
- Stop any activities nonconforming or having a negative environmental impact.
Experience and Skills:
- Regulatory knowledge & compliance law
- Industrial Hygiene (IH) experience
- General environmental regulations knowledge (Air, Water, Waste, etc.)
- Ability to prepare and support EHS regulator inspections and recordkeeping.
- General knowledge of ISO 14001, 145001, 9001, 5S Principals
- Strong background with incident investigations, internal reporting, mitigations, audits
- Ability to conduct detailed Risk Assessments, JHA’s/ JSA’s, mitigations, audits.
- Knowledge of project management, and equipment implementations.
- EHS data collection and daily inspections
- Sustainability data collection and reporting
Training:
- 1:1, large groups, supervisors, team leaders, and all employees.

- Lead EHS committees, first response & critical incident teams
- Guiding EHS culture development and leading employees to safety excellence.

- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time for site visits
- Ability to work Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
- Must be flexible to work part of the 2nd and 3rd shifts for overlap, approximately 2 times per month.
Requirements:
- English or Bilingual (spoken and written).
- Education & Qualifications:
- 4-year degree in Safety, Environmental Studies, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or Similar Field
- 2-5+ Years in occupational health and safety and manufacturing.
- 2-5 years in EHS technical role
- Preferred OHST certification, ASP Certification, Hazard Communication OSHA Training, HAZWOPER 40 Training, OSHA 501 trainer.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry 40lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to work indoors/outdoors in a manufacturing environment.
