Job Title:EHS Specialist
Summary:The EHS specialist will be assistant to the EHS Manager and responsible for the development of all company safety operations concerning the fire, emergency, safety, and environmental programs. The EHS specialist is also responsible for all safety policies including the federal, state, and local regulations and codes. They generally carry out various awareness campaigns for promoting the culture of safety. The EHS specialist may carry out routine inspections to check whether all the safety measures are working properly. The EHS specialist is one of the most important job positions in huge industries carrying out production using various hazardous chemicals.
Responsibilities Include:
- Ensuring plant EHS Standards and programs, EHS management system effectiveness and controls i.e. audit or measure necessary to be certain high standards are met and maintained.
- Ensures proper and thorough investigations of incidents associated with operation on and off sire involving safety, health and/or environmental consequences.
- Assures compliance with all Governmental and Company standards for Environment, Health and Safety.
- Responsible for the effectiveness of safety training programs for the safety introduction of all new employees.
- Maintain an overall environmental management program including air emissions, wastewater treatment and solid waste handling.
- Maintains an effective industrial hygiene and health program to monitor employee exposures to chemical and physical risks ensuring employee health maintain.
- Provide the effectiveness EHS training programs and safety introduction for contractors and new employees.
- Ensure overall Environmental Management Program including Waste Management, Environmental Monitoring Program (IEE Monitoring) Effectiveness.
- Ensure effective industrial hygiene and Health Program to monitor employee’s exposures to chemical and physical risks ensuring employee health maintain. Including Industrial hygiene workplace monitoring.
- Ensure effectiveness of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, environment compliance program including support CSR program.
- Responsible for EHS Element Owner, preferably Element # MS-09-IH Industrial Hygiene for element # MS-IH01, MS-IH02, MS-IH04, MS-IH05 and MS-IH09. Element #MS09-Environment as MS-Env01: Waste management
- Ensure effective PPE providing and management.
- Coordination with Site Sustainability Leader to achieve Energy conservation management program.
- Assist the manager to manage the plant security system.
- Other administration task; EHS monthly compliance report, PR-PO, etc.
Qualifications:
The following are required for the role
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environment and Occupational Health or any related Engineering fields.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Safety, Health and Environmental.
- Computer literacy and good command of English
- Safety & Quality mindset.
- Background from chemical manufacturing industry or Multi-National Company is preferred.
- Good leadership and people management skills.
- Problem solving and root cause analysis skill.
- Hands-on
- Influencing and presentation skill.
- Good communication skill.
