Responsibilities:

  • Experienced in both Occupational Safety and Environmental in regulated pharmaceutical facility a must.
  • Contractor management , Permits, inspections.
  • ISO 14001 regulation Knowledge
  • Recycling and waste program management.
  • Contribute to a safe and quality working environment through training, awareness, and compliance to company policy and Federal/State/Local regulations as well as ensuring that all required records are prepared and maintained properly.
  • Monitors relevant and applicable regulations and accepted best industry practices and recommend programs, systems and corrective action for application at assigned site and if applicable for enterprise wide consideration.
  • 5-9 years experience in a manufacturing industry (pharmaceutical preferred) with direct responsibility for Health, Safety, and Environmental. High familiarity with OSHA, DOT and EPA regulations and cGMP procedures.
  • Thorough understanding of EHS procedures; analytical and problem solving skills; supervisory skills and experience; strong communication skills (speaking and listening); knowledge of EHS regulation and best practices; technical writing; conflict resolution skills; computer literate; team building skills; a desire to develop others through coaching and facilitation.
  • Maintain internal and regulatory reporting including data collection and reporting including but not limited to air, storm water and surface water discharge.
  • Serve as primary contact for all regulatory agencies for inspections, permitting, reporting (air, water, waste).
  • Maintain compliance with permits, government regulations and other industry practices.
  • Keep abreast of any safety and environmental law or regulation changes that impact the client.
  • Participate in manufacturing meetings to discuss workplace safety and regulatory concerns and opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with Operations, Managers, Supervisors and employees.
  • Assist in the oversight of the Worker’s Compensation program.
  • Promote excellent relationship with MENTOR clients, encouraging an open dialog and trustful communication between both parties demonstrating a professional conduct at all times and proudly represent MTG at all levels and places.
  • Alerts management when problems are identified and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Must be a team player committed to developing and working in a quality environment.
  • Ensure compliance of Waste Management Programs as Hazardous Waste, Non Hazardous Waste General Trash, Biohazard and Recycling.
  • Prepare Hazardous Waste Manifests Reports.
  • Ensure compliance and update the EHS programs documentation
  • Ensure and verify that all the areas, manages waste are in compliance with client standards and with Regulatory Agencies.
  • Audit EHS Programs Inspections and Follow-up of correctives actions in the Inspection Action Plan.
  • Conduct inspections training.
  • Conduct ergonomic, lifting and carrying techniques training.
  • Maintain and file the Near Miss, Management of Change forms and non conformance's report, Ergo Assessments.
  • Participate in Near Miss, Incident and Accident Investigations
  • Prepare monthly Inspection

Educational requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Industrial Hygiene or Social Science related field.
