Position Summary
The EHS, Facilities, & Security Specialist is an onsite Environmental, Health, Safety, Facilities, and Physical Security professional supporting Neogen's Minnesota R&D and laboratory operations.
Reporting to the Regional EHS Manager - North, this role is responsible for coordinating and implementing EHS programs, supporting facility operations, maintaining regulatory compliance, and assisting with site-level security and risk management activities. The position partners closely with R&D, laboratory, facilities, and operational stakeholders to promote a safe, compliant, secure, and efficient workplace.
EHS Responsibilities:- Support implementation of EHS programs focused on injury prevention, regulatory compliance, and risk reduction within R&D and laboratory operations.
- Coordinate site EHS inspections, audits, corrective actions, and compliance activities.
- Assist with environmental compliance programs including hazardous waste management, chemical management, wastewater, stormwater, and regulatory reporting support.
- Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and follow-up activities.
- Maintain EHS records, permits, training documentation, and compliance tracking systems.
- Coordinate employee EHS training and awareness programs.
- Support industrial hygiene, ergonomics, exposure control, respiratory protection, hearing conservation, and related occupational health programs.
- Participate in Management of Change (MOC) activities for facility, process, and laboratory modifications.

Site Facilities:
- Serve as the primary local contact for facilities-related requests, maintenance coordination, contractor oversight, and facility improvement projects.
- Partner with Corporate Facilities on capital projects, maintenance planning, space utilization, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Track EHS and facilities KPIs and prepare reports for leadership review.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and standardization efforts across EHS and facilities functions.
- Conduct routine physical security inspections of the site, including access control, doors, cameras, fencing, lighting, and security equipment.
- Administer site access processes including badge requests, visitor management support, and coordination with Human Resources and site leadership.
- Support site emergency response planning, drills, business continuity, and crisis management activities.
- Coordinate with contracted security providers, local emergency responders, and corporate security resources as needed.
- Investigate and document security incidents, access control concerns, and suspicious activity.
- Maintain security records, procedures, and site emergency contact information.

- Bachelor's degree in EHS, environmental science, safety, engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of EHS, laboratory, facilities, operations, or related experience.
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, hazardous waste, chemical safety, and laboratory safety requirements.
- Experience supporting inspections, audits, training, investigations, and compliance programs.
- Ability to coordinate facilities maintenance and contractor activities.

- Ability and willingness to become CPR, AED & First Aid certified and provide emergency care as needed.
- Professional EHS certifications (ASP, CSP, CHMM, OHST, or similar).
- Experience supporting physical security and access control systems.
- Knowledge of industrial hygiene and ergonomic assessment tools.
- Lean, Kaizen, or continuous improvement experience.
- Experience within biotechnology, laboratory, pharmaceutical, food manufacturing, or related industries.
