EHS Officer (Site Based)
Reporting directly to the EHS Manager and working proactively with the Senior Management team, this position is based at our Burnfoot, County Donegal facility and will involve working across client sites in Ireland, the UK and throughout Europe. The successful candidate will spend up to 70% of their time on client sites.
This is a temporary position for an initial 6 month period.
Team Management
Expectations:
- Conduct regular site audits to help prevent incidents/accidents and communicate all findings and suggestions for improvement to site management.
- Promote culture of safety first on site, raising hazard awareness and the importance of correct use of PPE (Safety Glasses, Footwear, Work Wear etc.)
- Ensure compliance & management of documentation in accordance with ISO 45001. Reply to all subcontractor/client requests for information as and when required.
- Work closely with the Service team Technical Managers within the various Operating Units to ensure alignment on site safety policies, TBT’s, and safety bulletin’s.
- Full accountability for design, delivery and evaluation of all generic H&S training courses.
- Continually work with project managers to heighten safety responsibility for their respective sites.
- Complete audits on a regular basis on various client’s sites and meet KPI’s as an when required.
- Implementation and training of Vertiv safe application.
- Collaboration with management, identification, and implementation of preventive and corrective actions to ensure compliance with all H&S requirements to eliminate all potential nonconformities.
- Perform inductions and specific trainings for employees. Continually support managers to deliver safety training to their subordinates.
- Represent the company during site meetings, attend site safety walks, identify high risk activities and communicate regularly with the client and/or main contractor.
- Manage the toolbox talk schedule for each project and communicate any changes in legislation or corrective actions identified from previous incidents.
Measures:
- Compliance with all OHS and environmental protection requirements defined in company regulations or communicated during training.
- Reporting 6 good catches annually. Promoting monthly target of good catch programme on site.
- Reporting and use of Vertiv Safe App.
- Demonstration of leadership working with people and communication skills.
- Completion of monthly site KPIs targets and goals. Ensuring targets are met.
- Adherence to measures to prevent emergency situations and operational control measures.
- Report all accident, occupational diseases and emergency situation.
- Timely completion of training, reports and records.
- Quality of training modules, risk assessments and standard operating procedures prepared.
- 360 Feedback from senior management and EHS Manager.

About the TeamSkills Required
- Knowledge of and ability to manage compliance with ISO 45001
- Experience conducting site H&S audits and preparing risk assessments
- Experience designing, delivering, and evaluating health and safety training and inductions
- Ability to implement and train staff on the Vertiv Safe App and report using it
- Willingness and ability to spend up to 70% time on client sites across Ireland, UK and Europe (frequent travel)
- Strong communication and leadership skills to represent the company and liaise with clients/main contractors
