The role:
This position is responsible for supporting the Plant Management team in deploying EHS requirements and creating a mature EHS culture within the plant. As well as providing technical expertise, the holder is responsible for influencing line management and promoting leading EHS behaviors. The holder is responsible for advising management on compliance with EHS legal requirements as well as Group and Sector EHS standards and policies. As an EHS Manager, you will help drive our goals by:
Leadership
• Show leadership in all areas of EHS by influencing, supporting and challenging Line Management in the deployment of EHS requirements.
Legal and other Requirements
• Identify applicable EHS legislation and advise management on compliance.
• Advise and assist Plant Management in compliance with JM EHS requirements including Policies, standards and EHS reporting requirements.
• Where Security provision on the site has been outsourced, provide full support in engaging with Group Security and reporting key security issues to Sector and Group.
EHS Processes and tools
• Establish standardized EHS systems and processes that are consistent with Group, Sector & Region direction and initiatives.
• Ensure sites have a clear EHS Annual Improvement Plan based on analysis of lagging and leading indicators, audit findings, groups and sector EHS targets/objectives.
Technical Requirements
• Provide technical advice on all areas of EHS, liaising with Group and external specialists where relevant.
Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:
Demonstrated experience in effective leadership, with ability to coach, develop and engage individuals and teams. Install a culture of accountability and effective leadership of change.
Working knowledge of the applicable international, national & local Standards and legislation is required.
Significant experience in building and maintaining positive relationships internally and externally to the organization.
