The Role
As we scale our manufacturing operations, we’re looking for an EHS Manager who will lead environmental, health, and safety programs across our labs and production spaces. This role sits at the intersection of compliance, safety culture, and operational excellence helping our teams push the boundaries of innovation while driving progress with precision in a safe, healthy, and sustainable workplace. Your Mission:
- Help establish and lead a world-class, safety-first culture at Solestial
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations and requirements
- Serve as the site lead, providing technical and regulatory guidance on emerging EHS issues
- Partner closely with Facilities, Engineering, and Operations teams on various projects
- Develop, implement and continuously improve safety training employees and contractors; track and manage training requirements
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
- Conduct safety audits and track completion of action items
- Support development, operation, and continuous improvement of gas monitoring systems
- Develop, implement, and oversee chemical safety programs, including handling, storage, labeling, and disposal, to ensure compliance with regulations and protection of personnel.
- Lead Emergency Action Plan development and ongoing readiness
- Develop and maintain Job Hazard Analysis program
- Manage PPE and first aid kit inventories
- Coordinate emergency shower, eyewash station, and fire extinguisher inspections
- Maintain and update facility SDS documentation and chemical inventories.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in EHS, Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in EHS program development and operational oversight
- Experience with occupational safety programs and OSHA standards
- Background in semiconductor, electronics, solar manufacturing, or other chemically intensive manufacturing industries preferred
- 2+ years of experience working with silicon etching chemistries and a deep knowledge of their associated chemical hazards and engineering based mitigation strategies
- 2+ years of experience working with the pyrophoric poisonous gas used in semiconductor doping and a deep knowledge of their associated chemical hazards and engineering mitigation strategies
