Pay Range: $17.23 – $22.00 per hour (DOE)
Duration: Summer Internship / 3–6 Months
Overview:
Valence Surface Technologies is currently seeking motivated and detail-oriented interns to join our team at our Lynwood, CA facility. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced, aerospace-focused manufacturing environment.
An internship or full-time opportunity with VST allows you to gain on-the-job, supervised training. Selected individuals will be involved in various aspects of Quality, EHS, and Operations—from procurement to distribution—enabling you to develop practical skills and industry knowledge while receiving mentorship and professional development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with workplace safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments
- Support the development and implementation of EHS policies and procedures
- Help track and maintain safety records, training logs, and compliance documentation
- Participate in incident investigations and help identify root causes
- Assist in coordinating safety training and employee awareness programs
- Conduct research on OSHA and environmental regulations as needed
- Support environmental programs such as waste management, recycling, and sustainability initiatives
- Partner cross-functionally with Quality and Operations teams on process improvements
- Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Preferred candidates are currently pursuing or have recently completed an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Technical Certificate in a relevant field.

- Environmental Health & Safety
- Occupational Safety
- Environmental Science
- Industrial Hygiene
- Business Administration
- Human Resources
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel and/or data visualization tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment
- Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations preferred
- Knowledge of supply chain concepts is a plus
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Employment eligibility verification required at time of hire
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
- This role is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
- Applicants must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk the production floor and conduct inspections
- May require lifting up to 30 lbs
- Must be able to wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
