EHS Intern - Summer 2025

The Role:
Our site in Burnet, TX is seeking a/an EHS Intern to join our team for the Summer 2025 season. This assignment is intended to be 12-14 weeks in duration.
In this role, the intern will collaborate with the Environmental, Health & Safety team to identify and mitigate workplace hazards. The intern will also contribute to plant-wide projects involving hazard assessments and risk management. This is a great opportunity to participate in ongoing learning and development opportunities to enhance EHS expertise.
What You’ll Do:
• Tracking site wide waste disposal of Hazardous / Non-Hazardous materials. Find cost affective alternatives for waste recycle/reuse.
• Ergonomic Sustainability through engineering controls - analysis and design of ergonomic material lifting in various areas of the plant.
• Co-Lead the site Sustainability team and develop ways to reduce waste being generated for the site.
What We Seek:
• Outgoing and cooperative to work cross-functionally
• Project Management
• Interfacing with manufacturing engineering, operations, new product development, and facilities teams
• Hands-on ability with chemical processing equipment, and air and water testing instrumentation
• Experience with excel and pivot tables
• Good analytical skills in assessing relevance and accuracy of data
• Working with third party laboratories and consultants regarding factory water systems, HVAC systems, and monitoring data analysis.

Outstanding Candidates Will Have:
• Extensive laboratory and chemical experience
• Strong chemistry knowledge a plus
Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year:
• Chemistry, Biology, Safety, Environmental
• Must be enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate program with a graduation date of December 2025 or later.
