The People team is responsible for managing all aspects of human resources at TRACTIAN, from onboarding to employee development and performance management. This department focuses on building and maintaining a strong company culture, ensuring that employees are engaged, supported, and aligned with the company’s goals. The People team also handles payroll, benefits, and employee relations, making sure that TRACTIAN attracts and retains top talent while fostering an environment of growth and collaboration.
What you'll do
The Health, Safety, Environment, and Occupational Safety Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health, safety, environmental, and occupational safety policies and programs to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards. You will play a key role in fostering a safety culture, collaborating with different departments to mitigate risks and ensure that operations are conducted in a safe, sustainable, and legally compliant manner.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Health, Safety, Environment, and Occupational Safety policies and programs, ensuring compliance with current legislation (NRs, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001).
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of work environments to identify risks and propose corrective and preventive actions.
- Lead investigations of incidents and near-misses, performing root cause analyses and proposing improvement solutions.
- Create and revise emergency plans and incident response protocols.
- Implement training programs to raise awareness and train employees on health, safety, and environmental topics.
- Promote behavioral safety initiatives and accident prevention campaigns.
- Liaise with external occupational health providers, such as Salú, for health evaluations and safety reports.
- Monitor HSE performance through the collection and analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs), continuously proposing improvements to adopted practices.
- Collaborate with operational teams to ensure the implementation of safe and sustainable practices in production processes.
- Support the company during external certification audits, ensuring compliance with ISO standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and propose solutions to minimize the environmental effects of operations.
- Prepare management reports and presentations for senior leadership and other stakeholders regarding HSE performance.
Requirements
- Degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.
- Experience with HSE management systems, including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 (OHSAS 18001).
- Knowledge of regulatory standards (NRs) applicable to occupational health and safety.
- Experience in preparing safety reports and issuing CATs, with a clear understanding of hazard allowances.
- Analytical skills to conduct risk assessments, perform root cause analyses, and propose practical solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver training and presentations.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of HSE management tools and compliance auditing.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, etc.
- Intermediate English proficiency.
- Intermediate skills in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel.
