About the Position

Höganäs in North America is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator to work at our Hollsopple, PA plant. This position supports the day-to-day safety and environmental activities for all US based facilities and coordinates training, maintains records and contributes to local, state and federal reporting requirements.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Ensures compliance with relevant standards, including OSHA, DEP and EPA regulations.
  • Works with all employees to address EHS concerns and recommends improvements to equipment, process, or behavioral activities.
  • Conducts/coordinates EHS inspections and audits, documents actions, writes reports and conducts follow-up. 
  • Leads incident investigations and establishes corrective actions.  Works with all employees, including managers and engineers, to implement corrective actions.
  • Conducts annual OSHA training for all employees.
  • Maintains and documents incidents and risk assessments in global electronic system (MIA).
  • Supports the ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Management Systems.
  • Maintains Safety Data Sheets and hazard communication program.   
  • Maintains safety supply inventory.
  • Supports industrial hygiene activities. 
  • Develops and reviews safety procedures and policies. 
  • Supports emergency response functions, including Omnilert maintenance. 
  • Supports contractor management. 
  • Supports environmental activities such as sampling, reporting, and incident investigations.
  • Supports Sustainability and Lean initiatives.
  • Contributes to all local, state and federal reporting requirements.
  • Actively exhibits leadership capabilities in all aspects of their work.
  • Displays conscious awareness of what is required to ensure a sustainable Höganäs.

Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in a safety-related field and up to five years professional experience in industrial safety. Strong verbal, written, and analytical skills with the ability to interact with all levels of employees. Knowledge in the use and limitations of monitoring equipment and government regulations regarding safety. Must be willing to occasionally work nights and weekends.
