POSITION SUMMARY:

EHS Coordinator is responsible for assisting in compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations within the manufacturing facility. This role involves implementing and maintaining safety programs to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment. The EHS Coordinator will also lead efforts to reduce the facility's environmental impact while promoting a culture of safety, health, and compliance.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop andmaintaina comprehensive EHS training calendar that includes mandatory safety training, hazard recognition, safe work practices, and emergency response procedures.
  • Conduct hands-on training sessions and workshops to ensure employees understand safety protocols and the proper use of equipment and protective measures.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements based on employee feedback, incident data, and regulatory updates.
  • Provide specialized training for specific roles, such as machine operators, first responders, and supervisors, ensuring that all employees are equipped to recognize hazards and respond appropriately.
  • Conduct regular safety and environmental risk assessments, inspections, and audits.
  • Identifypotential hazards and implement preventive measures to minimize risks to employees, the environment, and equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to improve facility safety and environmental controls.
  • Investigate workplace accidents, near misses, and injuries todetermineroot causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain records of workplace incidents, injuries, and environmental releases, ensuringtimelyandaccuratereporting.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety performance.
  • Assisting withMonitor andmanagethe facility’s environmental impact, including waste management, energy use, water consumption, and emissions.
  • Coordinate the proper disposal and recycling of hazardous materials and waste.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental permits and coordinate waste reduction strategies.
  • Other administrative duties assigned in HR, Safety, and Environmental 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • 2-3years’ experiencein the safety and environmental field. 
  • OSHA 10 Certification 
  • Strong ability to talk in front of crowds andcomfortablewith training.
  • Excellentoral and written communication skillsarerequiredtoeffectively communicate withemployees,managementand Holdings representatives.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, and prioritize, delegate, and organize assignments

PREFERRED SKILL/ KNOWLEDGE/ ABILITY/ EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

  • Pursuing education inrelated discipline
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • OSHA 501 Certification
  • Interested in pursuing OSHA 511 certification 

Work Environment: Work is performed mostly in a controlled atmosphere. Some exposure to harsh conditions—such as: dust, fumes, noise, and varying temperatures—for short periods of time is possible. This employee will be required to demonstrate continued knowledge of Haz/Com regulations and requirements. All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas.

Physical Demands: Standing 20%, sitting, 60%, walking 20%. This position requires occasional physical effort including lifting, pushing and pulling material weighing up to 20 pounds. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk and hear. 

Skills Required

  • 2-3 years experience in the safety and environmental field
  • OSHA 10 Certification
  • Ability to present to groups and conduct training
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize, delegate, and organize assignments
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HazCom regulations and requirements
  • Pursuing education in related discipline
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • OSHA 501 Certification
  • Interest in pursuing OSHA 511 certification
