The EHS & Compliance Lead is a site–facing leadership role responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) management systems, compliance programs, and operational risk controls across the manufacturing site. This includes driving a strong safety culture, ensuring alignment with Haleon standards, leading crisis and business continuity programs (BCP & CMP), and overseeing Engineering and EHS compliance activities such as calibrations and adherence to technical standards.
The EHS & Compliance Lead will provide technical guidance to Site Leadership, Engineering and EHS teams, and will influence decision‑making to ensure risks are identified, controlled, and continuously improved. The role also collaborates broadly across functions—Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, HR and external partners—to embed EHS into all site processes and ensure regulatory and corporate compliance.
To be successful, the individual must demonstrate strong leadership, problem‑solving, stakeholder engagement and the ability to drive behavioral‑based safety initiatives. This role is a key contributor to the site's talent pipeline, offering future growth into roles in EHS, Engineering or Operations within Haleon.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead implementation and governance of EHS programs, compliance with Haleon Policies, Standards and internal control frameworks.
- Oversee incident investigations, risk assessments, CAPA management and regulatory compliance.
- Strengthen the site’s safety culture through coaching, training, and proactive engagement.
- Lead Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and Crisis Management Processes (CMP), ensuring readiness and execution.
- Manage Engineering & EHS compliance programs including calibrations, technical standards, alerts, and audits (L1–L4).
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to embed EHS into operations, projects and change management processes.
- Ensure environmental compliance and minimize the site’s environmental impact.
- Develop and mentor EHS team members and SMEs, ensuring competency, capability and succession planning.
- Maintain accurate reporting, KPIs and communication to site and corporate stakeholders.
- Coordinate external/internal audits and ensure timely closure of findings.
- Support continuous improvement using tools such as gap analysis, root cause analysis and risk assessment.
Why you?Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Sciences, or Occupational Safety.
- 2–5 years of experience in EHS roles within industrial environments.
- Experience in risk assessments, incident investigations, compliance programs and audits.
- Strong communication, leadership, teamwork and decision‑making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with a strong sense of urgency and organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Sciences or EHS.
- Experience in Consumer Healthcare, FMCG, CPG or Pharmaceutical industries.
- Experience leading safety programs such as Process Safety, Machinery Safety or Contractor Safety.
- Strong influencing skills and ability to work in a highly cross‑functional, matrixed environment.
- Experience delivering EHS training and developing technical competencies in others.
