General Purpose of Role:
To implement the Health & Safety functions at the Bridgend site and support the global safety team.
The role is a combination of office and shopfloor based activities.
Main Responsibilities:
Health & Safety
-
Support the operation of the Global SMS at the Bridgend site
-
Developing and maintaining health and safety information, posters, guides etc in response to site requirements.

Maintain EHS accident smartsheet database for Bridgend; follow up accidents and near misses; Assist UK EHS Manager to investigate serious incidents and if necessary, reporting same to H&S Executive
-
Oversee first aid requirements for site and lead the first aider team.

Perform risk assessments and COSHH; maintain EHS risk assessment records and support training for other departments.

Support the UK EHS Manager and Director, Technical Services in their responsibilities for health & safety and meeting site and global KPI’s.

Perform EH&S Audits of the site as required.

Lead Safety projects and initiatives as required at the Bridgend site and participate in global safety initiatives and projects as identified within the EHS global safety team.

Conducting Fire drills and overseeing the fire marshalls on site. Following up on any actions.
Environmental
-
As required, Support Director, Technical Services in their responsibilities for environmental initiatives and ESG program at the Bridgend site.
Training
-
Conducting H&S induction training and other safety related training as required.

Oversee the DSE assessments for staff.
Other Duties
-
To act as a representative for the EHS function as required at meetings, ensuring any directives are prior approved. To assist in any other reasonable tasks related to the Company’s activities.
Outcomes of Role:

Site is compliant with EHS regulations and global SMS.

EHS risk assessments are complete and up to date.

Staff are trained in EHS requirements as defined by their job role.

Site meets global PCI H&S targets
Specific Qualifications:
-
Health & Safety qualification/certification (minimum NEBOSH or equivalent)
Specific Knowledge / Skills Competence:
-
Good level of general education, particularly English Language /Grammar

Computing (Microsoft office)
-
Personal skills/attributes are: must be consistent, able to react to sudden adverse events in a professional manner.
Previous experience
-
Experience in a previous H&S role.

Proven IT skills; accuracy and attention to detail
Behavioural Competencies:

Good organisational skills; good communicator; able to work with minimum supervision; good time management skills

Respect for confidentiality; self-motivated with the ability to interact and develop relationships with colleagues and external contacts
