Job SummaryTo support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add an EH&S Engineer located in Tijuana.
Reporting to the EH&S Manager, the EH&S Engineer role involves:
What a typical day looks like:
- Consults with all departments on design and use of equipment, fire prevention and safety programs
- Examine plans and specifications for new machinery or equipment to determine if all safety precautions have been included.
- Tours plant to inspect fire and safety equipment, machinery and facilities to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Define requirements for safety clothing and devices, and designs, builds and installs or directs installation of safety devices on machinery.
- Conduct or coordinates safety training to educate workers about emergency acknowledge, safety policies, laws and practices.
- Investigates industrial accidents to minimize recurrence and prepares accident reports.
- Conducts air quality tests for presence of harmful gases and vapors.
- Responsible for legal and environmental compliance with municipal, state, and federal government.
- Experience in medical devices Industries
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- Intermediate English.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Certified as a lead auditor in ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Implementation and monitoring of EHS KPIs (incidents, illnesses, compliance with work plans).
- In charge of identifying health and safety hazards and recommending corrective actions.
- Serves as internal consultant to business units on ergonomics, hazardous materials, industrial hygiene and fire and chemical safety matters.
- Audit business units and have experience in government audits.
- Interfaces with outside vendors, contractors and engineers regarding facilities, chemicals and other workplace health and safety related matters.
- Compiles and submits safety reports.
- Administers workers’ compensation, OSHA 2000 log and return to work program.
