What You Should Know About the EEG/EP/NCV Tech:
- Monday- Friday: Typical hours 8:00- 4:30. This position will take call. Call is from 4:30 p.m.-11:00 p.m. during the week days and 7 a.m. – 11 p.m. during the weekend and holidays.
- This position is based within Jefferson Regional Neurology Lab
Job Summary:
The EEG/EP/NCV Tech is responsible for performing a variety of test/exams such as EEG, Evoked Potential, Nerve Conduction Velocity, and related procedures at a technical level by utilizing the appropriate equipment to perform high quality testing in the Neurology Lab. This position is also responsible for following established standards and procedures, reviewing information to determine necessary adjustment for optimum results. The EEG/EP/NCV Tech ensures compliance with patient care quality standards as it relates to the care provided to all age groups and patient conditions.
EEG/EP/NCV Tech Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical Diploma in Electroneurodiagnostic or Neurodiagnostic Technology or Associate’s Degree in Biological Science/Other related field preferred.
- Certification as a Registered EEG Technologist (R.EEG.T.), Nerve Conduction Studies, or Evoked Potentials is a plus.
- BLS/CPR required upon hire or obtain within 30 days of hire.
- This is a safety sensitive position.*
- Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of one year (1) experience in EEG, Evoked Potential/NCV
- General knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, neurophysiology, physiology and obtain a general understanding of other special procedures that are performed within the department.
- Excellent patient care and communication skills, with the ability to work with patients of all ages
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and reporting
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and on-call rotations if required. (One-hour response time for callback.)
- Preferred Requirements
- 1-5+ years’ experience in EEG, Evoked Potential/NCV.
- Experience with pediatric, adult, and geriatric population preferred.
- Proficiency in the operation and troubleshooting of EEG, EP, and NCV equipment
