Your Opportunity

As an Educator at our Miller Community Preschool, you will play an important role in supporting children to learn, grow and thrive in a safe, inclusive and nurturing early learning environment. The service provides an educational preschool program for children aged 3 years to school age, supporting up to 40 children each day, including dedicated places for children with disabilities, developmental delays and additional support needs.

Working closely with children, families and colleagues, you will help deliver engaging play-based learning experiences that foster development, independence and school readiness. This is an on-site position where you will contribute to high-quality education and care while championing inclusion, child wellbeing and positive outcomes for every child.

The hours for this role are Monday to Friday during school hours from 8:30 am until 3:30 pm with paid lunch breaks and school holidays.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Support the delivery of engaging play-based learning experiences that promote children's learning, development and wellbeing.
• Build positive and respectful relationships with children, families and team members.
• Ensure the safety, wellbeing and active supervision of children at all times.
• Support the inclusion and participation of children with disabilities, developmental delays and additional needs.
• Observe, document and contribute to the assessment of children's learning and developmental progress.
• Maintain accurate records and comply with all relevant policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to a positive team culture and support continuous improvement initiatives within the preschool.

Requirements for Success

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, or Certificate III Early Childhood will be considered if working towards higher qualifications.
• Foundations of Child Safe Training Certificate – mandatory requirement.
• Demonstrated understanding of child safety, wellbeing and early childhood development principles.
• Experience supporting inclusive practices and working with children of varying developmental needs and abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while demonstrating initiative, reliability and a commitment to professional practice.
• First Aid certificate is desired but not mandatory
• Full driver licence with no restrictions.

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
