Your Opportunity as the Education and Training Leader
The primary function of this role is to lead and execute Education & Training (E&T) standards across the site. This includes owning and maintaining training materials, managing the skills qualification process, and ensuring training documentation systems remain accurate and compliant. The role is accountable for E&T performance by maintaining the site skills matrix, analyzing and reporting monthly training results, and developing and coaching site E&T functional leaders to drive capability and organizational growth.
Location: McCalla, AL
Work Arrangements: Monday–Friday with flexibility to support operations during occasional evenings, nights, or weekends, based on operational and business needs.
In this role you will:
- Own E&T scorecard and monthly Results
- Owns and maintains E&T skills matrix
- Assess needs to achieve zero loss due to training outages
- Point of contact with corporate for all company E&T initiatives
- Identify E&T standardization, consistency, and implement best practices
- Act as leadership team’s liaison to the teams E&T outages & wins
- Work with operations leaders to identify loss due to lack of training
- Coach and develop E&T Functional Leaders
- Facilitate E&T skill building and meetings on regular cadence
- Facilitate all step up card revisions, getting approval from Operations, Technical Team, Equipment Owners
- Own, record, and manage Step-up card and qualification process
- Own and facilitate all computer qualification testing and training
- Owns master copies of all operator manuals, working closely with EO’s to keep material up to date
- Maintains the Document control system for site
- Maintain personnel training records and reports
- Manage training files in Workday Learning Module
- Support the Development/Execution of training materials for the site
- Administer Mechanical Aptitude Test
- Support and model Operational Excellence work system behaviors
- Preserve Smucker culture
- Workday Learning Partner
- Utilize team members to successfully drive high-performance work culture with a focus on understanding, prioritizing, eliminating losses, and building and executing effective short- and long-term plans
- Effectively communicate expectations, provides timely feedback, and manages performance of team
- Develop team members to successfully perform current and future roles
What we are looking for:
Minimum Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree is required or 5 years of experience building and leading education and training systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing operational experience or food manufacturing preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience leading, supervising, or managing others preferred
