About the opportunity 

The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sydney Dental School is seeking a motivated and organised Education Support Officer to join our Education Support team. In this role, you will provide essential administrative, operational, and educational support to ensure the smooth delivery of clinical teaching and assessments across the Dental programs. The role is primarily based at Westmead Hospital, with occasional work at Sydney Dental Hospital City Campus and Nepean Centre for Oral Health 

 

You will work closely with academic staff, clinical tutors, and students, helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports student success. 

 

This role is campus-based and requires a minimum of four days on-site per week. Hybrid working arrangements may be discussed with your manager for the successful candidate. 

 

Key responsibilities 

As the Education Support Officer, you will: 

  • coordinate and support clinical teaching, including timetabling, booking and preparing teaching spaces, and managing clinical tutor engagement 

  • assist with assessments and examinations, ensuring smooth delivery of both clinical and knowledge-based evaluations 

  • maintain and update educational resources, databases, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with university procedures and quality standards 

  • support program evaluation and continuous improvement initiatives, helping implement new processes and workflows 

  • foster a positive student experience, contributing to an inclusive and supportive learning environment 

  • build and maintain strong relationships with academic staff, clinicians, and external stakeholders, including Local Health District partners 

 

About you 

To succeed in this role, you will be a proactive and organised professional with a strong focus on operational excellence and student support. You will thrive in a dynamic environment and be able to manage multiple priorities with professionalism and attention to detail. 

You will bring: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (or equivalent combination of training and experience) 

  • 2–4 years of education administration experience, ideally in clinical or tertiary education 

  • experience with learning management systems (LMS) and other digital tools to support teaching and learning 

  • strong organisation, time management, and multitasking skills 

  • excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration skills 

  • a proactive, adaptable approach, with the ability to work effectively under pressure 

  • commitment to supporting a positive, inclusive, and high-quality student experience

You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to be eligible to apply. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.
