This role plays a key part in supporting organizational learning initiatives through the development of engaging and innovative educational programs for both clinical and non-clinical staff.

The ideal candidate for the Education Specialist role is creative, collaborative, and passionate about adult education and healthcare learning. This individual will work closely with Nurse Educators and subject matter experts to design impactful training experiences using classroom instruction, simulation-based learning, and e-learning platforms such as Relias. The ideal candidate will bring strong instructional design skills, technological proficiency, and the ability to create engaging educational content that supports staff growth and organizational excellence.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

The Education Specialist responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Collaborate with Nurse Educators and subject matter experts to design, develop, and update educational programs and training materials for clinical and non-clinical staff.
• Create engaging and interactive learning experiences using adult learning principles and instructional design strategies.
• Develop professional educational materials including PowerPoint presentations, visual aids, handouts, and simulation activities.
• Build, maintain, and update online training courses within the Relias Learning Management System (LMS).
• Design and implement surveys, competency assessments, and evaluation tools to measure training effectiveness.
• Analyze educational outcomes and training data to identify opportunities for improvement and present recommendations to leadership.
• Differentiate curriculum and instructional methods to support diverse adult learning styles.
• Incorporate creative learning strategies such as case studies, games, simulations, and interactive exercises to improve engagement and retention.
• Assist with facilitation of training sessions, in-services, and educational events as needed.
• Maintain organized records of training completion, course evaluations, and educational resources.
• Stay current with trends in adult education, instructional design, e-learning technology, and healthcare education best practices.
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance with organizational policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule:

• Typically Monday–Friday during standard business hours. 8 AM - 5 PM 
• Full-time position; schedule may vary based on organizational needs

Qualifications

Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Community Health Education, Public Health, Instructional Design, or related field required.
• Previous experience in curriculum development, instructional design, training, or education preferred.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
• Experience with e-learning platforms or learning management systems (Relias preferred).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.

• Creative and innovative approach to education and training.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and online learning platforms.
