Overall Function:


Implements the LEARN After-school and Summer Project at the assigned location.


Essential Functions:

 

  • Plans, coordinates, and implements lesson plans based on the given curriculums for enrollees.
  • Plans daily STEAM activities to enhance and support the academic and social skill development of enrollees.
  • Maintains regular communication with program supervisor, appropriate staff, parents, and school district personnel to ensure safe and quality care for all students.
  • Plans quarterly parent workshops and events for enrolled students at the assigned location.
  • Maintains all appropriate program information and documentation, including attendance, individual child’s records, and all communication documentation.
  • Works with District personnel for recruitment/enrollment and screening of students for the Projects.
  • Daily oversight of mentors, student participants, and activities.
  • Implements evaluation tools, i.e., pre/post testing, surveys, etc., and serves on the LEARN Evaluation Team
  • Assists the Project Director with mentor application process, screenings, orientation, and ongoing training sessions.
  • Adheres to all policies, laws, regulations, and codes of ethics and confidentiality as outlined by federal and state laws, and agency policies and procedures.

 


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field with one year’s work experience related directly to the education and development of children and/or families, PA Dept. An Education Certification from an accredited college or university is required; one year of experience in case management or the public education system is preferred. An equivalent combination of skills, experience, and education may be considered at the discretion of the Agency.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with parents, program staff, school district personnel, and other agency personnel.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of entitlement programs and available social services.
  • Ability to receive, understand, and communicate information effectively and follow instructions.
  • Must successfully obtain Criminal History Clearance from the Pennsylvania State Police, Child Abuse Clearance from the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, and Fingerprint-Based FBI Clearance.
